Fall Soccer 2021 Grades 3 thru HS

The goal of 3rd-HS recreational soccer is to continue to develop the fundamental skills, sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer that were introduced in earlier age groups. Teams will play against other towns which are generally located in Northern Bergen County.

The first game will generally be held on the weekend following Labor Day with the final game generally held on the weekend before Thanksgiving. There will generally be one weeknight practice set at the coach's discretion. Absent discipline issues, each player will play at least 1/2 of each game under league rules.

The registration cost includes a jersey, shorts and socks for each player. Parent volunteers are strongly encouraged even with limited soccer knowledge as each team is run exclusively by volunteer parent coaches. Interest can be expressed on the main registration page.

Players must bring water to each practice and game and wear shin guards and cleats. A soccer ball is also highly recommended as each coaches equipment bag will have a limited number of soccer balls.

3rd-8th grade girls games are generally held on Saturday mornings with occasional weeknight games.

3rd-8th grade boys games are generally held on Sunday afternoons with occasional weeknight games.

High school soccer games (co-ed) are held on Sunday afternoons.

Please note the Covid-19 guidance in the parental consent form in terms of when players and spectators should not attend practices or games.

Registrations received after the stated deadline will be subject to a $25 late fee and subject to space available on teams as there are maximum roster sizes given the requirement that each player participate in at least half the game. In the event a session is full, wait list registration will be available with every attempt made to accommodate each player subject to the roster maximum described earlier to the extent an additional team can be formed.

Fall Soccer 2021 Pre-K and Kinder

The goal of Pre-K and Kinder soccer is to develop the fundamental skills, sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer. Each 75-minute session will consist of a 30-40 minute practice to emphasize skills development and a 35-40 minute scrimmage against other Allendale teams.

The first session will generally be held on the weekend following Labor Day with the final session generally occurring in mid-November. The first session will generally be run by professional soccer trainers in order to introduce both parent volunteer coaches and players to drills and games aimed at skills development and to give the parent volunteer coaches ideas on how to run their practices and scrimmages.

All parent volunteer coaches and players will receive team shirts. The key to the success of the weekly sessions is the involvement of volunteer parent coaches and assistant coaches. Parents are able to indicate their interest in coaching or assisting via the same site on which player registration is completed. At the time of parent registration, consent to a background check will be required. Parent volunteers must also complete a Rutgers Safety Clinic course and an on-line concussion course.

Players should bring water and wear shin guards and cleats. At this age group, a parent or guardian must remain at the field at all times. It is recommended that players bring a size #3 soccer ball.

Fall Soccer: 2021 Grades 1st and 2nd

The goal of 1st and 2nd grade soccer is to continue to develop the fundamental skills, sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer that were introduced in Kinder Soccer. 1st and 2nd graders will be combined but girls and boys will be on separate teams. Each 75 minute session will consist of a 30-40 minute practice to emphasize skills development and a 35-40 minute scrimmage against another Allendale team.
