2019-2020 ARC Kinder/1st/2nd Grade Basketball

Registration is closed

Late Registration Fee of $25 applies starting on Nov 7th

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade Programs will take place on Saturday mornings at Hoop Heaven on Hopper Avenue in Waldwick starting in December and running on available Saturdays until Winter Break. Private Coaches will be utilized to run this program, but parent Volunteer coaches are needed to assist! The fee for this program is $145.
Times:
K - 9am to 10am
1st - 10am to 11am
2nd - 11am - 12pm

December 7th, 14th, 21st
January 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
February 1st, 8th, 15th



2019-20 ARC Winter Basketball Youth Coaching Program

Registration is closed

Students in grades 9-12 can participate in ARC's referee and coaching program where if qualified, they can coach and/or assistant coach actual REC games for 3rd-4th boys and girls REC basketball. This is a paid opportunity, and will help create opportunities for these children to learn the responsibilities of managing the employment process.

Requirements:
1: Students must complete the Rutgers Safety Course (http://youthsports.rutgers.edu/educational-courses/volunteer-coaches)
2: Students must complete the Online Concussion course
(https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html).

Students are expected to recognize the level of responsibility required for being a head coach or assistant coach, and, the positive impact they can have on young children just starting to learn how to play basketball.

By allowing their participation in this program, parents acknowledge that a high level of responsibility is required to participate in this program, and that the youth coach commits to attending a weekly practice and game each week as per the team schedule.


2019-20 ARC Winter Basketball Season

3rd/4th Grade:
Students play games in a league comprised of teams from Allendale, Ho-ho-kus/Saddle River and Upper Saddle River. These games take place 1x a week on Friday nights or Saturday mornings starting in mid-December, and run until the season-ending tournament in the middle of March. Youth coaches are utilized and parent volunteer coaches are needed to support this program!
The fee for this program is $165.

5th/6th Grade:
Students will play games in a league comprised of teams from Allendale, Ho-ho-kus/Saddle River and Upper Saddle River. Practices begin after Thanksgiving and games begin in mid-December and continue through the middle of March with the Playoff tournament. Practices and games will be held in schools in Allendale, USR, and Ho-Ho-Kus. Days, times, and locations vary each week, but the teams usually play one weeknight and on a few Saturday afternoons. Parent volunteer coaches are needed to support this program!
The fee for this program is $165.

7th/8th Grade:
Students will play on teams comprised of integrated students from Allendale, Ho-ho-kus/Saddle River and Upper Saddle River, with the intent to help the children adapt to all of these students merging together into Northern Highlands High School. Practices and games begin in December and continue through March with the Playoff tournament. Practices and games will be held in schools in Allendale, Upper Saddle River, and Ho-Ho-Kus. Days, times, and locations vary each week, but the teams usually play one weeknight and occasionally on Saturday. Although all the towns are integrated for this program, we make sure that every child has another participant from his/her town on their team, to help aid in this transition. Parent volunteer coaches are needed to support this program!
The fee for this program is $165

2019-20 ARC Winter Basketball Ref and Scorekeeper Program

Students in grades 9-12 can participate in ARC's referee and scorekeeping program where they can ref actual REC games for 3rd-4th boys and girls REC basketball, as well as manage the score clock during these games. This is a paid opportunity, and will help create opportunities for these children to learn the responsibilities of managing the employment process.

Requirements:
1: Students must complete the Rutgers Safety Course (http://youthsports.rutgers.edu/educational-courses/volunteer-coaches)
2: Students must complete the Online Concussion course
(https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html).

Students are expected to manage the process of verifying their games, confirming their monthly paychecks and being accountable for picking up their checks from the youth coordinator.

By allowing their participation in this program, parents acknowledge that it is the responsibility of their children to verify the accuracy of the paycheck and to follow the procedures for picking them up. Parent communications to the youth coordinator and/or league commissioner will not be tolerated.

College recommendation letters are provided for exemplary effort and performance.
